Having a heart to succeed is not about the physical pump within your body. It refers to that inanimate part of your being that is often hard to describe. The condition of your heart is critical to your success in life. It is the place where passion and emotions originate.
Vince Lombardi once said,
"I firmly believe that any man's finest hour, the greatest fulfillment of all he holds dear, is that moment when he has worked his heart out in a good cause and lies exhausted on the field of battle - victorious."
There's something you need to know about succeeding in life, you can't expect to achieve it if you are not passionate about what you do and are willing to work your heart out doing it. So, no matter what you are doing, do it with every ounce of your being or don't attempt to do it at all. You cannot be successful without push, effort and drive. You must be passionate about what you do! If you're not, then consider one of two things:
1. Re-ignite your passion. In other words, get re-fired about what it is you are doing. If you are going to be a successful person you must set yourself on fire.
2. Try something else. Find out what you are passionate about and go do it. You may not be doing the right thing.
In a classic old movie titled, Pennies From Heaven there was a song and some of the lyrics said:
You gotta have heart, lots and lots and lots of heart. The movie was a story of a man and his daughter trying to make it in a world that seemed to be totally against them. This small family didn't like what was happening to them and reached a point where they realized they had to have "...lots and lots and lots of heart!" They discovered that, no matter what was going on around them, they had to be able to love one another and keep moving forward.
It all begins with passion. Passion for life, passion for others and passion for what lights your fire!
"...as a man thinks in his heart, so is he." [Proverbs 23:7]
Your heart must be passionate enough to drive your thinking and actions toward the success you desire to achieve.
